Today we road the bus to the ruins called Herculaneum. The city was destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. This city dates back to 3rd century BC. It will probably be years and years before the whole city is excavated. The top of this picture shows some of the current city which lies on top of the buried city.
